kumusta po pamilya! - Week 3 - 11/22/18
First of all! Happy
thanksgiving! I hope you all ate yummy...actually I know you all did because
mamis food is masarap!
Today we actually went as
both LTM missionaries to the temple. I'm in the Ammon district and we went with
the Samuel district. We are actually only 15 missionaries here at the mtc
because all the RTMs left yesterday and on Tuesday! It was so sad seeing many
friends I made leave so soon but I know that they are going to fulfill the
Lords purpose! I loved the temple session, I learned alot this time and I felt
the spirit so strong! I actually thought of dad when the hno. was up there
because I remember when he was the one up there for my endowment session.
So yes we have the MTC all
by ourselves, and did I mention I have the best MTC president & his wife
they threw us a thanksgiving party and they grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for
us! They treat us so well here! I love them they are so great!
SO~ so much has happened
this week! So my district when proselyting with the missionaries from the
Manila mission and let me tell you we only got 1 hour to go out with them
because the traffic here in the PH is so bad! But, I loved it so much! The
sister who Sister. Pay and I went with was so sweet and we were able to talk to
5 people in that amount of time. It was such a humbling experience! It is much
like El Salvador but I would say worse because they don't even have proper
doors just a cloth. But, they are so masaya! because they have their family.
And we were able to meet this really sweet lady named Mary Anne, and she was so
receptive to the message of our Savior, that she accepted the BoM and gave the
last prayer. It makes me want to work harder on my Tagalog studies to
communicate the message better. I'm so excited for Dec. 12! I have met so many
missionaries from that area and they say we have the best mission Pres. and
that it is such a great place! Tomorrow we won't be lonely anymore here at the
MTC bc there is a new batch coming and they said there is an Elder. Castro
coming! I'm so excited to make even more new eternal friends! My kasama
actually gave me one of the most comforting compliments that shows to me so
much comfort and progress of myself, she said you are so social! You are very
friendly and talk to everyone! WOW - I was like talaga!
OH - also before we went
proselyting on Thurs. we were setting our food down when Sister. Carlos (MTC
Pres. wife) said "All missionaries there is an emergency - a GOOD one go
to the activity center." And I totally called it! We were there and guess
who came in....DAVID ARCHULETA. He sang 3 songs to us - One hymn in spanish and
shared such inspiring experiences from his mission. It was pretty cool &
UNEXPECTED.
One day our teacher made us
go to the temple and challenged us to share our testimony with 3 people &
guess what that was my goal for that day! I know it was an inspired goal from
the Spirit! I was able to share with them my testimony and they said sister
Castro magalin (excellent) tagalog! Haha! They were so sweet. I actually met 1
sister who is getting baptized on Dec. 1st, her story was amazing! And it is
such joy to see how the gospel blesses peoples lives.
UPDATE on the language - I
can bear my testimonies & say my prayers in tagalog!
It's coming more to me and
I'm so grateful for the gift of tongues because I can understand 85% of what
people say in tagalog!
I love the MTC and I love
all the leaders who serve here. My teachers are amazing! And my kasama &
district are one of the best people I have met! I love the MTC so much!
OH - we also had baloot
I'm very masaya &
healthy! Alam ko po na ebanghelyo ni Jesu Cristo is TRUE. I love my Savior and
Ama Sa Langit. I love you all - Mami, Papi, Mildred, and Michelle, and
Hopito! Always know that you are all in
my thoughts & prayers!
